Welcome to Liberty Badminton Club
Liberty Badminton Club was established in 2008 to provide league and social games, welcoming all people independent of geographic location, background, age, or ability level.
We cater not only for those who are ambitious and wish to progress up the badminton ladder, but also those whose needs are more social, fitness or recreational, and the club has adopted a strong ethos in seeking to cater for all players’ needs and ambitions.
We hire the Sports Hall at Pentrehafod School as the main home for all our playing activities, a location which has a large 4-court badminton hall with halogen lighting and modern changing facilities.
Subscription Fees for 2025-26 are £24.00 per month, payable by direct debit, covering hall fees and shuttles. Registration fees are £20.00 Welsh Badminton Fees and £10.00 SAWGBA league fees for the season. Visitors and new members can attend at a cost of £7.00 per session by prior arrangement.
The administration of the Club is entirely volunteer-based. Swansea & West Glamorgan Badminton Association (SAWGBA) proudly present trials for the 2025/26 county team on 21st September 2025, at Pontardawe Leisure Centre (Pontardawe Leisure Centre, Parc Ynysderw, Pontardawe, Swansea SA8 4EG), the team will compete in the Badminton England Senior County Championships (SCC).

If you are unable to attend the main trials, the upcoming SAWGBA handicap tournament on the 11th October 2025 at Neath Sports Centre (Neath Sports Centre, Neath Abbey Road, Neath, SA10 7BR) will be considered an alternative trial event.

County team manager Vaughn Tovey commented "The interest so far has been very encouraging indeed, myself and the selection committee of Emma Mannion-Williams (MW Sports Utd) and Dan Jenkins (Maridunum) are encouraging all interested/eligible players who play in the Swansea and West Glamorgan league to submit their interest as soon as they can, if there is enough interest we may look to submit a 2nd team next season (2026-27), but this is very much dependent on the interest level shown this season, we all very much look forward to seeing everyone in action at the trials".
